Utilization of education and participation benefits
Challenges and potential for action
The education and participation package promotes and supports children and young people from low-income families. Unfortunately, it often happens that benefits are not applied for even though they could be entitled to them.
Studies: findings, tools and practical examples
What are the reasons why families do not claim the benefits they are entitled to? How many people are entitled to benefits? And where and in what circumstances do they live?
It is important to answer these and other questions in order to increase the uptake of benefits from the education and participation package and to coordinate the services and needs more closely.
In the following overview, we present some studies and working aids that provide answers to these questions, present challenges in municipal practice and discuss solutions that can simplify and expand the use of BuT benefits.
