Around 201,000 parents in North Rhine-Westphalia took time off work to care for their child in the 4th quarter of 2025 and received parental allowance, including around 33,000 fathers.

Estate: New service hotline provides free support for questions

Anyone who needs support with questions about wills and inheritance after a death can now receive this free and uncomplicated support over the phone. The five local courts of Essen, Cologne, Nettetal, Recklinghausen and Wuppertal provide surviving dependants with quick and human guidance via their new service hotlines.
