Bouquet of flowers in card format: simple instructions

Material list

For this DIY with children, you will need:

  • Solid cardboard or cardboard box (e.g. shipping box)
  • . shipping carton)
  • Scissors or a thicker needle
  • Pencil
  • Black felt-tip pen
  • Craft glue or adhesive tape

Step-by-step instructions: Bouquet of flowers in card format

  • Step 1

    Prepare the card:
Cut the card to the desired size.

Tip: For smaller children, this task is best done by an adult.

  • Step 2

    Sketch out the flower stems:

Sketch out a vase or simply the stems of a bouquet of flowers with a pencil and trace them with a black felt-tip pen.

Tip: There shouldn't be too many stems so that there is enough space for the flowers.

  • Step 3

    Pierce holes for the flowers:

Now use a needle or scissors to pierce small holes through the cardboard above the vase or at the top end of the stems, through which the flowers can later be inserted.

Tip: This task is best done by an adult.

  • Step 4

    Go out and collect!

Now it's up to the children: go out into the meadow and pick flowers and pretty leaves - e.g. daisies, clover, forget-me-nots - and stick them through the prepared holes in the card.

  • Step 5

    Finishing:

For a better hold on the back of the card, fix the stems of the flowers in place with adhesive tape or a piece of adhesive paper.

What age is the craft project suitable for?

The youngest children from the age of 2 can join in with the collecting and children from the age of 4 with the crafting steps. All materials can be found in the household.

Tip

For very small children, a larger and firmer (packaging) box with wider holes is suitable to prevent frustration when collecting.

You can do everything with it!

The cheerful flower cards are not only suitable as a gift idea or small gift for a loved one - collecting the flowers is a fun activity in itself that invites children to discover nature.

Have fun making, collecting and giving!
