Colorful collecting fun for Mother's Day
Are you still looking for a simple craft idea for Mother's Day that will bring lots of joy to the children and doesn't involve buying lots of materials? How about a self-collected bouquet of flowers in card format? The cardboard base is quickly prepared and the little ones can then fill it with flowers they have collected themselves. A great activity for children aged 2 and over, even without a special occasion.
Bouquet of flowers in card format: simple instructions
Material list
For this DIY with children, you will need:
- Solid cardboard or cardboard box (e.g. shipping box)
- . shipping carton)
- Scissors or a thicker needle
- Pencil
- Black felt-tip pen
- Craft glue or adhesive tape

Step 1
Prepare the card:
Cut the card to the desired size.Tip: For smaller children, this task is best done by an adult.

Step 2
Sketch out the flower stems:
Sketch out a vase or simply the stems of a bouquet of flowers with a pencil and trace them with a black felt-tip pen.
Tip: There shouldn't be too many stems so that there is enough space for the flowers.

Step 3
Pierce holes for the flowers:
Now use a needle or scissors to pierce small holes through the cardboard above the vase or at the top end of the stems, through which the flowers can later be inserted.
Tip: This task is best done by an adult.

Step 4
Go out and collect!
Now it's up to the children: go out into the meadow and pick flowers and pretty leaves - e.g. daisies, clover, forget-me-nots - and stick them through the prepared holes in the card.

Finishing:
For a better hold on the back of the card, fix the stems of the flowers in place with adhesive tape or a piece of adhesive paper.

What age is the craft project suitable for?
The youngest children from the age of 2 can join in with the collecting and children from the age of 4 with the crafting steps. All materials can be found in the household.
Tip
For very small children, a larger and firmer (packaging) box with wider holes is suitable to prevent frustration when collecting.
