Voice for all families in NRW
The Family Federation of Catholics is a non-partisan, non-denominational family association. It represents the interests of all families in politics, society and the church and is committed to family friendliness, family justice and the promotion of marriage and family. With events, statements and active commitment, the association is an audible voice for families in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Familienportal.NRW asked the NRW state association of the Family Federation of Catholics to briefly present its work, goals and commitment.
What are the goals of the Family Federation of Catholics?
The Family Federation of Catholics is a family policy association and is committed to improving the framework conditions for all families in North Rhine-Westphalia. We develop statements, proposals and positions to support families in different life situations and everyday situations so that a family-friendly environment is created across the board.
Who is the association addressing?
The NRW state association discusses its positions with politicians, academics and representatives of the Catholic Church.
At the level of the five (arch)dioceses in NRW - Aachen, Essen, Cologne, Münster and Paderborn - there are also events for families such as parent-child camps or family education weekends.
How are the families supported?
We see ourselves as a "voice for families" and represent the interests of families in political, social and church discourse.
What are the three most pressing issues at the moment?
The most important issues at the moment are:
- Living and housing,
- kindergartens and schools and
- strengthening democracy.
Why is it worth getting involved in the association's work?
It is particularly important to support families in the area of family policy. Families need a lobby! Anyone who would like to get involved can get in touch with the contact persons in the Aachen, Essen, Cologne, Münster and Paderborn diocesan associations.
