They need support.

What help is available for young adults?
Help for young adults is available
for young people between the ages of 18 and 27.
It doesn't matter:
- whether you live with your parents,
- whether you live alone,
- or whether you live in a residential group.
There are different types of help.
For example:
- Educational support
A specialist supports you in everyday life.
For example with- problems in the family
- difficulties at school
- or at work
- Individual support
You receive personal support.
You learn how to deal with difficult situations.
And you learn to solve problems yourself.
- Home education
You live in a facility for a period of time.
A specialist will help you regularly.
- Assisted living
You live with other people in a residential group.
You will receive support from a specialist.
- Integration assistance
This assistance is for people with a disability.
And for people with mental health problems.
A specialist helps with living, learning or working.
Who can get help for young adults?
You can get help for young adults,
for example if you:
- are between 18 and 21 years old,
- need support to live independently.
In special cases, you can get help up to the age of 27.
This is decided by the Youth Welfare Office.
How much does help for young adults cost?
In most cases, the youth welfare office pays for the help.
If you
- live with your parents
- or live alone
you usually don't have to pay anything.
But:
Sometimes young people live in a home
or in an assisted living group.
In this case, you have to contribute to the costs.
The Youth Welfare Office will tell you exactly how much you have to pay.
