Family-Friendly Community 2024

Family-oriented intergenerational projects, the involvement of children and parents in planning processes, or a family-friendly city hall—many municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia are increasingly approaching public administration from a family perspective. Challenges are seen as opportunities—even in the context of diverse family life and demographic change.

In 2024, six municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia were awarded the state’s “Family-Friendly Municipality” prize for their commitment to family-friendly initiatives, while many others are making an impression with new ideas and services.
