When must parental contributions be paid?
You have a contract
- with a child day care provider
- or with a day care center?
(that means: child day care facility)
Then the Youth Welfare Office will check:
How much money you have to pay.
Important:
The parental contribution can be different in every city.
But: The parental contribution should be the same for day care and child day care.
How much money do the parents have to pay?
This is in the law.
The law is called the Children's Education Act
(KiBiz for short)
It says so: The amount of the parental contribution is staggered.
This means:
The amount depends on:
- How much money the parents earn?
- How many children live in the family?
- How many hours a day the child is in childcare?
Care is free for the last 2 years before school.
In some cities, it is even free earlier.
Who does not have to pay a parental contribution?
You do not have to pay a parental contribution
if you receive one of these benefits:
- Child supplement
- Citizen's allowance
- Social assistance
- Housing benefit
- Benefits under the Aysl Applicants Act
Important:
You must submit an application.
Only then do you not have to pay a parental contribution.
What do you need for the application?
To apply for exemption from the parental contribution, you will need:
- the childcare contract with the daycare center
- or the childcare contract with the daycare provider
- proof of your benefits
For example:
- Child supplement
- Housing allowance
- Citizen allowance
